Aggressive Truth
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.
Isaiah 40:31
Waiting does not mean staying in one place, from the above scripture, waiting is an action word. The bible verse says, they “shall renew their strength”… waiting does not get you tired if you take it as a noun, but because it is a verb, after the act, your strength must be renewed. Renewed in this context is not just to refresh one’s strength, but an exchange of a person’s strength; as in this case, the Lord’s strength for the individual waiting upon Him. If ever, one is to have his strength renewed, then he must wait upon the Lord and nothing else; “but they…” implies that this principle will only be applicable to those within this context. To rely on God allows you infinite access to His strength.
In waiting, you show that you’ve at least enough trust in whom you are waiting on, as the very act of waiting shows you are expectant and have a significant amount trust that you will not be disappointed. Waiting entails hoping on, looking up too, expecting… In waiting on the Lord, your strength is changed into His and the spirit of endurance is granted unto you. Because waiting on the Lord isn’t passive; your soul, your mind, your body and in general, your entire being must be put into perspective.
Waiting on the Lord means you are actively involved in the understanding of his Word, which allows him to bless you, as stated in Psalm 37:34.
Waiting on the Lord means you are productive in thinking, which allows Him to teach you His truth, as seen in Psalm 25:5.
Waiting on the Lord means you have accepted a single truth and you’re ready to stand firm in it. This allows answers to your prayers; the process of waiting on the Lord allows you to exercise your godly attributes and qualities. Waiting on the Lord for whatsoever might be your case, means you do not lose faith (as that is when it is acted on the most). It also implies that you exercise the spiritual truth written in scripture as regards that situation and he will never disappoint you nor allow you grow weary or faint.
We live in a generation that wants everything now; instant pleasure, instant gratification and immediate significance. Today’s study scripture is a very powerful one as it goes against human believes and the world’s system. It is a tough concept and that is why the benefits there after fall only on those that wait upon the Lord. If you will be obedient to this truth; you “shall mount up with wings as eagles”; reaching high heights without losing site and soaring to the greatness of God Himself (Ephesians 2:6), “you shall run, and not be weary”; looking up to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith, in whom you can join at the right hand of God (Hebrews 12:1-2), “and you shall walk, and not faint”; because you’ve received Christ and you are in a good place for an eternal walk (Colossians 2:6).
Are you waiting on the Lord for something? Then you must quit worrying and start living in the truth of God’s words as regards that situation because waiting on Lord is never passive.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.
