God Did Not Call Everybody; He Sent Everybody!!!
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matt 28:18-20 (NKJV)
God did not call everybody, He sent everybody!!! This is to say, you do not need to be a pastor to do Kingdom business, you do not need to be an evangelist to do kingdom business; you can be a cook and still do Kingdom business, you can be a politician and still do Kingdom business! Actually, the reason you are whatever you are (your career/ occupation) is to create an avenue for you to do Kingdom business…
It’s time to forget the old mentality that people have come to grow into, that states that, unless you are a pastor, prophet or minister, then the gospel shouldn’t be preached by you or even when preached, should be under the above platform alone.
Here is the point, if God had called; only specific people would have responded…
(Does “For many are called, but few are chosen.” ring a bell?) Matt 22:14 (NKJV)
The idea is this, whenever a call is made, only a few people end up fulfilling the essence of that call, as others would feel that the message was for specific people and so they are not involved. However, when everyone is sent as in this case, it leave no room for excuses as to why it should be someone else’s job!
He said Go into the world and preach, He didn’t say go as a pastor, teacher, or doctor, it wasn’t specific (the messenger I mean)but the message was 100% specific; and preach the gospel,(note, it didn’t say your gospel, the specificity is specific; the gospel, so don’t say because you’re not a pastor, you do not have to preach the gospel, as a doctor you are meant to preach the gospel, as a student you are meant to preach the gospel, as whatever you are, you are meant to preach the gospel in your filled of calling. The gospel is God’s good news; the charge we were sent into.
You are supposed to represent Christ with your work, as it allows you too. Remember you are not just called by position or occupation (religion), you were sent by person (relationship). Christianity is religion and relationship put together! You don’t have to work like someone to get your job done, that’s why your profession is different from his! In that very thing God has gifted you in, are you supposed to glorify Him!!! All through this year, result to glorifying God as only you can through your office work and daily activities, by letting your lifestyle and life-work preach the gospel as is required…
