The New Year’s Prayer…
Strictly simple from Tosin (SST)
It’s not just a New Year’s wish,
New resolutions like the former…
It’s different this time,
As was intended…
Going back to the original,
Tapping into the Master’s plan…
I remember now, so clearly,
I was called to have dominion,
From the very first command!
Not to dominate His image,
Or subdue His essence,
Not to fight or shush the Master’s will,
As is usual…
But to let His will be done
The rare but very actual-
If I might,
This and only this I ask
That I grow into you, so much
I become the exact representation of you
Your image; the initial intent…
As each day starts a new year,
Signifying a fresh start,
2013, Oh Lord!!!
I give absolutely to you…
To order and direct my step,
To teach me in the path to go
Leading and introducing me to your presence…
As the old year has once again rolled out, I sure hope you all have just like me, check-listed the events that have constructively destroyed and sharpened you into who you now are; in this year, 2013. I want you to understand that though a lot of mistakes might have happened during the past year, there isn’t a single one without whose significance is to be ignored. Like me, I am also aware that quite a number of blessings followed that year, however, the way it affected you is also something not to be ignored. If there is anything I have learnt, it’s the statement well expressed by John Wooden, when he said “you can’t let praise or criticism get to you. Its weakness to get caught up in either one”…
My greatest desire and prayer as we’ve entered into the New Year is that, we come into the understanding of the importance of; the little events that sharpen our everyday lives, the motives that detect the reaction we present and the knowledge of the assurance we do have in the Ultimate…
I therefore charge you not to rush into making the usual resolutions that turn “normal” once the day changes from New Year to the second day of the New Year but rather, to keep a focus on Him and the principles He has put in place for you to WALK INTO IN THE YEAR 2013!!!
