My Inheritance

     Inheritance
Possession gained through someone’s death. Something you receive from someone else, something someone once had but now belongs to you. Inheritance is usually something of valve because you really never had it. Inheritance is a gift, not necessarily a merited one, but the giver makes you merit it. It is only natural and normal to pass on something valuable and of great importance to you once you feel it’s the appropriate time to let go or when you are about to die. Inheritance gotten from death comes only because you are family; in the sense that the person believes you are the best that can appreciate and appropriately use whatever it is that you are being given. Such inheritance is not returned but used such that it also can be inherited from you at a certain point in time.
                                                                                        Back to the foundation…
’The earth is the LORD’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell there in’
                                                                                                                                               Psalm24:1
‘O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup… yes I have a good inheritance’
                                                                                                                                               Psalm10:5-6
                                                                                          Here’s how it works
Initially, it was just sperm cells and eggs, but when a man and a woman in the union of marriage give birth; it becomes a child; then and only then can an inheritance be given to such a person with respect to parents, so also it is with scriptures, initially you were God’s creation(genesis 2:7) but  when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal LORD  and Saviour in the union of a new birth(“In his great mercy He (God) has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you …” (1 Peter 1:3-4, NIV)) you become God’s son(child, John 1:12);then and only then can you have an inheritance with respect to God. So by the above understanding, you have legal right to access and accept your inheritance in Christ Jesus, since you are the reason he died, but first, you have to accept Him.
Realising that psalm 24:1 says everything belongs to God and psalm 16:5-6 says that God is our (your, mine) inheritance means, if there is any word that fits into the definition of everything; then you (we) can have….actually you already have it all!
‘Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ who has blessed (past tense) us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly place in Christ’
                                                                                                                             Ephesians 1:3
From the above scripture, it is important to note that, the inheritance has already been given (because of the death of Christ; it says “who has blessed”…), but given ONLY IN CHRIST, meaning it’s for those who become God’s children (or already are)
The inheritance been spoken of here, is not just any kind of inheritance or an average inheritance, it’s an eternal (everlasting) inheritance which covers every aspect of life. This is to say, both spiritually, academically, financially, socially, morally and even much more; you have been covered. That’s the inheritance we’re talking about; ‘I go (Jesus speaking) to prepare a place for you’ (John 14:3), that’s the inheritance we are talking about; inheriting the kingdom of God (both on earth and in heaven).
SHIELDING YOUR INHERITANCE
All that our Father has, has automatically been given to us, such that:
We serve a mighty God which makes us mighty children,
Our God is excellent which makes us excellent-
Our God is the healer, which makes us healed,
Our God is faithful which makes us full of faith, amongst others…
Knowing this, means we have to protect our inheritance; Esau lost his inheritance because he did not valve protecting it (Genesis 25:29-34). We must not give up our ultimate for the immediate. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego had to go through fire to keep their inheritance (Daniel 3:13-23)… Daniel was in the den of lion to keep his inheritance (Daniel 6:10-16)…. Joseph went to prison to keep his inheritance (Genesis 39:7-20); these are examples of people that didn’t compromise. Those that know their God, do not joke with their inheritance no matter the circumstances, just as one of my favourite quotes says…
‘No matter how thirsty a scientist is in the laboratory, he will never drink an acid to quench his thirst; just as a true child of God, no matter how worried or terrible a situation is, will never meet the devil for solution’

                                                                                                  INHERITANCE
It’s not just about what you can get on earth, but about what God can give you eternally. Eternity in God’s kingdom is your inheritance and there is only one to way to get it…
Jesus said to him ‘I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me’…
                                                                                                                        John 14:6
And that is through the death and resurrection power of Jesus Christ
‘For I deliver to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to scriptures’ …
                                                                                                                   1st Corinthian 15:3-5

The concept of this work is simplicity in its highest form, however the truth can’t be made simpler than it already is…To be continued
